Wow - what an amazing place. We were in Sydney for only two weeks (November 2021) but are delighted that we took time to visit this amazing garden. It is exquisitely laid out and exudes an air of total tranquility. In my view - well worth a visit.

I live in Sydney with lots of attractions. Visiting Chenese Garden of Friendship was one of my most beautiful experiences which still remains inside. You step into a world of peace, tranquility and harmony - so much we need these days. It is well maintained, caring for each detail. I highly recommned to visit either you are a tourist or a local.

I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE SHOW HERE. I’m not a great fan of native Australian gardens, even less so with most exotic plantings – rows of carefully tended natural or introduced species fail big time to whelm me. But the Chinese gardens were different – they seemed to concentrate or more of the overall landscape: the lakes, waterfalls++, pavilions, animals++ yada rather than what was growing there. Although what was growing there was pretty nice. The overall layout of this area is relatively simple. The entrance zone tends to have lotsa pavilions including a very nice dining area with water views. Immediately east of this was a zone of waterways – there arr two central lakes++ plus a nice creek area to the north side. Further east the land rises to a waterfall zone. Best way to check the higher eastern areas is via the perimeter track. It rises abt 25m to the waterfall zone but in no place did I think slopes too steep for the unfit. Anyway there are lotsa seats and small pavilions where you can take off the load. Total distance is not great – I reckon a fit person could do the whole perimeter path non-stop in less than 10mins. TIPS - fi the hustle and noise of the city is getting to you, the calm of the gardens is a perfect antidote. - lower zones are wheelchair friendly. Unfortunately upper areas have a few steps. - don’t be afraid to take side tracks off the perimeter path. Some are very good value and none are excessively steep for more than a very short distance. - critters in this zone are very tame, particularly the water lizzards. - make sure you pack yer concession cards. Overall entrance fee is a steal, concessions even better. - you could knock over the gardens in abt an hour – longer if you choose to pack a picnic for the dining pavilion. There are lotsa nearby attractions in Darling Harbour **– but you may choose to keep the Chinese thing going with a meal/snack in nearby Dixon St** **TRIPADVISOR HAS REVIEW PAGES ++SEE PIX

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is located to the south of Darling Harbour. This is in a walled compound and there is an entrance fee to see the garden. Inside it is like stepping into another country. The garden is immaculate. Well worth a visit.

The Chinese Gardens is a garden full of wonderment wherever you look. Steeped in so much rich chinese culture, it was so great to see something different from western culture gardens. The aesthetics and the peacefulness of the garden was welcoming. Very picturesque. I can't wait to go back.

We did the Discovery Tour with Ming at 10:30am which I found very interesting and informative. Thank you Ming! Although we have been to Sydney many times before we had never visited this garden. We will definitely be visiting this garden again. So peacuful and relaxing in the heart of the CBD. I loved listening to the water. There is a very pretty restaurant and cafe also. Entrance was $8 we booked in advance but people were able to purchase tickets onsite. Love these gardens can”t wait to visit again!

A delightful way to spend an afternoon, post meal, walking around these splendid gardens and buildings - surrounded by tall sky scrapers, yet peaceful and meditative!

Having wandered past here numerous times and thought that it was just a tiny garden I could haven’t been more wrong. The garden is huge and full of little hidden gems when walking around. The water falls and features including the “over fed Goldfish” or Koi swimming in the lake are just gorgeous the whole way around. You could spend a good couple of hours in here soaking in the peaceful nature and tranquility. You kind of forget you’re in the heart of the city at times. There are opportunities ‘for the gram’ the whole way around the garden. So don’t be shy in getting a pose or two in front of the waterfalls or in the Bamboo forest. Would definitely visit again
