DACOU is the acronym for Dreaming Art Centre Of Utopia, and was founded by Fred Torres in 1993. Since its inception DACOU has become firmly entrenched in the art world and is recognised as the leading supplier of quality Utopia art.

Our gallery specialises in art from the Utopia region, located 270kms north- east from Alice Springs. The Utopia area is not only an area of great artistic importance but is a second home to Fred, who regularly sets up workshops in Utopia or Alice Springs. The objective of these workshops is to not only collect quality pieces of art, but to spend time with the artists who are also members of his family. These include Barbara Weir, Fred’s mother, Gloria Petyarre (aunty), Anna Petyarre (aunty) plus many others.
